Bali, by default, holds an essence of balance and tranquility. From within the jungle, you can feel Bali’s peaceful culture seeping into your soul, leaving you bewildered amongst Mother Nature. The side effect of this empowers you to move and explore deeper into your own mind and body. Since so many people come to Bali looking to explore and journey inwards, here are five spaces in Ubud that help connect all the dots.
Intuitive Flow is like a bird’s nest burrowed in the jungle. This yoga studio is not easily accessible by car or motorbike, but a five-minute adventure by foot from Roam. Linda Madani leads the studio, curating a class schedule comprised of Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Pranala, and meditation. Not certain where you fall in your practice? Intuitive Flow offers classes for both beginner and advanced yogis, with extra workshops to deepen your playful exploration. When practicing here, floor-to-ceiling windows will surround you, overlooking breathtaking views of the Penestanan jungle.
Yoga Barn is Ubud’s “University of Yoga”. It depicts the epitome of Eat, Pray, Love. Located in the center of Ubud, this community studio is only 15 minutes by motorbike from Roam. Here you can immerse yourself in a holistic practice of yoga, meditation and Ayurveda. Yoga Barn describes itself as being “earth and unpretentious”, an ideal place to embrace challenge and growth. Classes and workshops are offered in the studios alongside the healing center, with massage, Kirtan, sound healing, acupuncture, chiropractic, and naturopathy. There are often retreats taking place here, a sure place to connect with other travelers from different parts of the world. The garden café is an additional perk. Nourish yourselfyou’re your practice with an even deeper detox and cleanse.
The beautiful boutique gym at Bisma Eight is simple, yet fully equipped and accessible to Roamers. The space embodies two moods, the design split right down the center. You will find top-of-the-line machinery and mirrors on one end and on the other, an open wooden floor, flooded with natural sunlight to lay out your mat for self-practice and stretching. Yoga classes and workshops take place both indoors and on the rooftop on a rotating schedule, with an incredible view of the lush scenery below.
This beautiful property keeps their fitness facility open for drop-ins, even if not a guest of the resort. Though small, the gym is equipped with brand new equipment and a Bluetooth sound system to keep you motivated throughout. If the air-conditioned space is not luxury enough for your jungle workout, be sure to lounge by their pools afterwards. For a small extra fee, you can rest and revive here as if they belonged to you.
