Best Miami Restaurants for Vegetarians

Miami cuisine is heavily influenced by the roots of the Latin world. You can find empanadas and arepas within a 1 mile radius from where ever you are standing at any moment! The problem with Latin food, for clean eaters, is that there are very few options sin carne. Fortunately, Miami restaurants finally seem to be catching on to the organic, vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian “trend”. Here are some Miami restaurants that let you eat like a foodie while still maintaining your clean eating habits.

Lido Bar & Grill at The Standard

The hotel prides itself on wellness; offering spa services, yoga everyday, fresh juices, and an incredible menu with an abundance of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Everything about this place will make you feel better about yourself. Go for a whole day by the infinity pool, or a late lunch to enjoy the breathtaking sunset views. The kale salad is a standout and while you’re at it, add some falafel. The Mahi Reuben Sandwich is also not to be missed.

Sugarcane Raw Bar & Grill

This menu will make everyone happy. Order off the small plates menu, which is more tapas style, so you can try more things. The Brussels Sprouts in  sweet soy and orange sauce will make your mouth water. You can find your new favorite crunchy tuna roll here too. It sounds so standard, but trust that there is really something magical about this one. It’s definitely because of the pairing of tuna, avocado, spicy tempura flakes and sweet chili. The menu is large, there are plenty more healthy options for you here, and your carnivorous friends will find many things as well.  We suggest making a reservation because this place will get very packed on any night of the week.

Gigi Now

While the asian-fusion menu is ever-changing and evolving, this place always hits the spot. The spicy mushroom buns and chilled soba noodles with edamame, peanut, and sesame are a must try. While it may not be super “clean” eating, this is a favorite comfort food spot. It’s very casual and the prices are relatively inexpensive for Midtown. Plus, It’s open very late.  But beware, this place has such a great reputation, it’s guaranteed to be packed until closed on the weekends and they don’t take reservations for small parties.

Vagabond Restaurant and Bar

The Vagabond is a go-to place  to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown and the beach scene. The vibe is very trendy and you may find yourself brushing elbows with the famous faces of Miami. But food is what we are here for… So try the heirloom tomato salad  or the cobia ceviche which is so fresh and rich in Peruvian flavors. It’s hard to choose favorites from here, but if you must, the blistered cauliflower  with tahini, mint, pine nuts, and chili flake would take the prize.

KC Healthy Cooking

Referred by The New York Times as “truly the best restaurant in town”, KC really owns up to its reputation. Yet, you would never even know it even existed if you are passing by.  This oddly strange, casual, hidden cafe spot in an office building has no outside advertisement or signs. You will for sure be very confused upon arrival but by your departure you will be feeling all kinds of amazing. The double portobello black bean burger is a work of art and you will, no doubt, feel terrible destroying its beauty in the name of hunger but it’s worth it.

Make this life a wonderful adventure.
